Ms. Cochran is a member of the California State Bar. She is admitted to practice in all of the courts in the State of California, as well as California District Courts, Northern and Central. Ms. Cochran has appeared Pro Hac Vice in the states of Arizona and Nevada.
Secured half million dollar recovery in Plaintiff’s side partnership (LLP) dissolution and resolution of employment contract. Managed structured settlement with future ownership percentages, profit distribution and costs.
Secured half a million dollar recovery for client that was a victim of sexual harassment at major Northern California resort and spa.
Successfully negotiated significant settlement for misclassified employee at San Francisco start up. The individual had been misclassified as an independent contractor, an on-going issue at many startup companies. The individual had also been subject to gender (pregnancy discrimination), and was significantly compensated for both violations on the part of the company.
Successfully argued and defeated three summary judgment motions, brought by a litigious Defendant against a sexual harassment claim brought by a male employee against a female co-worker. This matter was settled at trial for over half a million dollars.
Works regularly with executive level employees consulting on employment agreements, both in, and out, of roles at Fortune 500 companies, and tech players such as Google and Facebook.
Works as general counsel for owners of small businesses and local artists negotiating contract agreements and consulting on business strategies related to compliance with both state and local laws, with an emphasis on Labor and Employment and Business consulting.
Ms. Cochran received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1998. Ms. Cochran attended the University of San Diego, School of Law, where she graduated in 2002, receiving an Outstanding Achievement Award for her work as a tutor for first year students on academic probation. Ms. Cochran was active in the Moot Court program and acted as a Teaching and Research Assistant to Professor Mary Jo Wiggins, Property Law.
