Every year the judges of the Unites States District Court for the Northern District of California hold a conference to discuss emerging issues in the legal profession and invite select members of the federal bar to attend.  This year, Senior Counsel Herman Hoying was invited and attended the three-day conference held in Napa.  The conference included panels on litigation funding, voir dire and jury selection practices in the Norther District and a lively discussion of the cases pending before the Supreme Court.  In addition to the educational opportunity, the conference provides the unique opportunity to interact with judges and other federal practitioners in a collegial setting outside of the courtroom.
