Alex is welcomed by Ad Astra as a sharp and experienced fifth-year litigator, with a vast catalog of experience ranging from complex & commercial litigation, class actions, and consumer protection laws. In addition to these practice areas, he also has a strong focus on product liability cases. Prior to joining Ad Astra, Alex honed his skills in discovery planning, trial strategy and procedural motions at several established San Francisco law firms.

As a managing editor for USF’s Law Review publication, Alex is a keen and enthusiastic writer, who spearheaded his own legal services consultancy that evaluated a variety of software and products. He also proudly served as a judicial extern for Chief Justice Cantil-Sakauye, where he analyzed petitions for review and drafted research memoranda on emerging legal issues.

Alex welcomes the challenge of keeping active, comfortably managing upwards of 15 active cases while swiftly meeting deadlines. He regularly practices in state and federal court, and has obtained prominent dismissals at key stages. His favorite facet of law practice includes briefing complex issues like federal preemption.

Alex is an avid cyclist and enjoys riding his bike to work. In addition to staying active mentally, he is a devoted runner and enjoys playing tennis. You’ll also find Alex eagerly writing or reading and researching frontline legal  topics.

Before joining Ad Astra, Alex practiced for Shook, Hardy & Bacon LLP, specializing in pharmaceutical & medical product liability. More recently, Alex also headed his own legal research firm, drafting articles and timely topics for client-facing publications. He has also organized large document collections, overseen review projects and managed all aspects from protective orders to privilege logs.
